Shore Leave 2402
More actions
The eleventh Bravo Fleet campaign, Shore Leave covers the Fourth Fleet's command-mandated downtime period for all ships and crews in mid-2402, scheduled to coincide with Federation-wide celebrations and award ceremonies marking the successful end of the Nightfall crisis and the repulsion of the Vaadwaur invasion.
The Story
In the months following the Vaadwaur invasion, Starfleet and the Fourth Fleet committed to rebuilding works. With many worlds attacked and several enduring weeks or months of brutal occupation, this was an intense and strenuous period for crews who had seen little respite since the invasion itself. By late June 2402, efficiency reports were clear: the Fourth Fleet was nearing burnout.
At the same time, the Federation was making ready for celebration, with many worlds finally emerging from the worst of their rebuilding. Ceremonies, festivals and celebrations were planned across the Alpha and Beta Quadrants to valourise the efforts of Starfleet defenders and liberators, as well as those who resisted and endured under occupation, and to memorialise the lost. With many Fourth Fleet ships playing key roles in the salvation and protection of member worlds, it was deemed only fitting the crews have the chance to attend and be recognised. Among Starfleet's celebrations is the launch of the newly christened USS Enterprise-G, demarking a new period of recovery and rebirth after difficult times.
At the end of these long labours, amidst a time of celebration, memorialisation, and fresh starts, the commanders and crews of the Fourth Fleet were given clear instructions: take shore leave, participate in ceremonies, and above all, rest and recover.
