Guide:TF Cheat Sheet

From Bravo Fleet

Purpose

This guide outlines the responsibilities and processes for Task Force Staff members when managing a Task Force. While you may be assigned to a specific Task Group, your primary role is to support the Task Force as a whole. Responsibilities include:

  • Weekly (or more frequent) activity checks.
  • Weekly (or more frequent) inactivity checks.
  • Engaging with members in the Task Force Lounge and private messages.
  • Welcoming new members, introducing them to our offerings, and encouraging participation in the New Member Program.
  • Supporting and encouraging member activity through demonstration, especially during fleet events and campaigns.

Activity Checks

To review a member's activity:

Navigate to a member's avatar page.
Select 'Activity Monitor' in the top right corner.
With the diplayed data, using the automation (for Junior Ranks) or via the OCS system, review eligibility for any awards and promotions.

Important Notes:

  • For Cadet ranks, each activity counts only once, as the requirement is "1 of XX activity."
    • Each Cadet rank should be a seperate activity. Note that the New Members badge is a requirement for Midshipman but also an eligable criteria of its own for Cadet Ranks.
  • For Midshipman ranks and above, activities are cumulative, except in specific cases (e.g a complete character biography).
  • Senior ranks are cumulative of awards, when considering this, always double check the date of merit awards to ensure they have been correctly captured.

Recording Activity

Activity for criteria related to ribbons, badges, competitions and number of characters is captured by the BFMS automation (bolty sees all!) TF staff will still need to record social media follows, gaming fleet joins and discord authentication via the buttons on a member's activity page.

N.B. We do not require proof of social follows and take this on good faith, but it should be recorded via the member recording system and approved by TF staff.

From Left to Right

  • Reached Level 1 on Discord (Only for Returning Cadets who joined before the automation, new cadets will be captured by BFMS via authenticated Discord)
  • Entered 1 Competition (Only for Returning Cadets from before the automation, new cadets will be captured by BFMS)
  • Followed on Facebook (Self Submitted)
  • Followed on Twitter/X (Self Submitted)
  • Followed on Instagram (Self Submitted)
  • Joined Gaming Guild/Fleet (Confirmed by Scurity Office)
  • Authenticated on Discord
  • Followed Podcast.

Full Character Biography

Characters being used for the 'full character biography' criteria should be marked as such by TF staff on the bottom left of the character page being used. BFMS will capture this tag and consider it for future promotions.

A 'full character biography' constitutes any character that has a considered and substantial entry into each aspect of the character's bio page. It should be aligned to the Fleet's canon & content policies, including any requirements under the Creative Integrity Policy. If you have any questions reach out to a member of the Ops team for clarification.

Junior Ranks Automation

Cadet and junior ranks can be checked for eligability via the automation system. From the member's activity page press Check for Promotion to begin the process. When the Check for Promotion button is pressed, the BFMS automation will collate all the recorded activity and suggest a suitable promotion based on criteria confirmed. If you believe a member has completed criteria that has not been captured please contact the Operations Team.

Submission Process

  1. Go to the member's 'Activity Monitor'.
  2. Click the 'Check for Promotions' button.
  3. If the member is ready for promotion; Press the 'Promote' button.
  4. Notify your fellow staff in your Task Force's staff channel.

Senior Promotion & Award Nominations

Review and Drafting

  1. Use the OCS calculator to determine award eligibility:
    1. Check the member’s dossier for their last promotion and award dates.
    2. Base the award on activity completed after their last promotion or award.
    3. Clear your entries in the shared OCS calculator after use.
  2. Draft a detailed nomination using the examples in the Nominations Guide:
    1. Post the draft in the Task Force Staff area for review and approval by the next person in the Chain of Command, TGCO → TFXO → TFCO → OPS

Submission Process

  1. On your dashboard, select Award Nomination under Chief of Staff.
  2. Click Submit Nomination and complete the form:
    • Enter the member’s ID.
    • Select the award type and quantity.
    • Add a recommendation with reasons for the award.
    • Enter your ID as the submitter.
  3. Submit for review.

Important Notes

  • Senior Promotions should include all Merit Awards and any additional activity since the last award.
  • The ‘Justifications’ box may be disregarded.
  • The OCS team will advice in your staff lounge if there is any reason the award cannot be processed. They may ask for edits or updates which can be made directly in the BFMS system.

Key Reminders

  • Activity Recording: Remind members they only need to record required activities that constitute a fulfilled criteria.
    • Check the activity in your STAFF channel if anything is unclear or you’re unable to verify it. If needed, tag the appropriate department head. For instance, when verifying Instagram followers, tag the Bravo Fleet Communications Officer.
  • TGCO Role Limits: TGCOs can only handle promotions from Cadet to Lieutenant Commander from members in their assigned Task Group. Promotions beyond that require TFCO involvement.
  • TFXO Role Limits: TFXOs can only handle promotions from Cadet to Lieutenant Commander. Promotions beyond that require TFCO involvement. They may be asked to draft higher promotions as a learning tool but this should be confirmed with the Operations team.
  • Thorough Documentation: Detailed and enthusiastic nominations are crucial for both promotions and awards, keep the tone positive and supportive.
  • New Member Program Badge: Is the only one that needs to be submitted by the TF Staff, ALL other Academy Badges are submitted by the Academy Staff.
  • Producer Mentality: The moment you stepped into a staff role, you shifted from being a consumer to a producer. Remember, your role is now centered on supporting the members, so keep the focus on them as you transition into this mindset. Answering Questions: You're not obligated to answer Bravo Fleet related questions If you're not 100% sure, it's best not to respond, as incorrect info creates more work for others. If unsure, wait or tag the appropriate staff member.
