Deep Space 3 is a Federation Vision-class station located in deep space of the Alpha Quadrant, lying within the stretch of Federation territory between the First Federation and the Ferengi Alliance. It serves as a watchtower for this tumultuous stretch of space, overseeing trade across all three governments, while providing low-level border security. It has often served as neutral ground for traders of the two neighbouring governments to meet and negotiate or exchange goods.
