USS Sacramento (NCC-75580) is a California-class Federation starship assigned to the Fourth Fleet's Task Force 21.

History

In 2401, under the command of Commander Nathan Allen, the Sacramento is assigned to transport delegates from the Primarion Gerontocracy and the Va’Saal Cessation movement back to their home-world following a failed diplomatic summit. The B’Queth, rulers of the Gerontocracy, maintain a rigid caste system where the Va’Saal serve as a subjugated class. Since first contact with the Federation, the Va’Saal have begun seeking independence, creating unrest between the two factions. A key objective of the the mission is to deploy a subspace communication array near Primarion Prime, intended to improve diplomatic relations and interstellar connectivity.

During the mission an archaeological expedition discovers that the Primarion system was once visited by an ancient crystalline entity, possibly the same species that attacked other worlds in the past. The entity was subsequently reawakened by the subspace array - later destroyed by the Sacramento to disrupt the amplification process - and the lead archaeologist merged with the entity before it departed the system. The crew of the Sacramento suffered numerous losses in their successful efforts to avert further disaster.

In 2402, under command of Captain Ayres, the Sacramento, as part of Task Force 72, fought the Vaadwaur alongside their Klingon allies at Boreth.

Configuration

Despite being assigned largely diplomatic missions, the Sacramento is configured as a medical support variant with hospital facilities to accommodate up to 200 patients, ambulance shuttles, and the capability to deploy field hospitals.

With every California-class starship dedicating a significant amount of interior space to cargo holds, the crew of the Sacramento have converted one of those holds into a unique, multiple floor dive bar called The Outpost managed by Daffyd Jones. The crew designed it to be dark and grubby, a space that feels distinctly different to the regulated aesthetic of Starfleet, and they do their very best to invite every rough-and-ready passing freighter captain to join them for some unique hospitality. The Outpost is decorated with as much broken space junk the crew can lay their hands on.

The Outpost is a dive bar converted from one of the Sacramento's cargo holds.

Auxiliary Craft

While under the command of Captain Ayres, an accomplished fighter pilot, the ship's typical captain's yacht was replaced with a Valkyrie-class starfighter. The Valkyrie is an ideal all-rounder space superiority fighter armed with two type-IX phaser canons and microtorpedo launchers.
