Deep Space 12 is a Federation Narendra-class station located in the Algox system mere light-years away from the border with the Romulan Free State. Built to replace an ageing outpost after the collapse of the Star Empire and the Neutral Zone, DS-12 upholds Federation interests on this chaotic frontier. The independent territories of the former RNZ are a hotbed for refugees in need of Starfleet aid, rogue warlords looking to form their own fiefdoms, and uncharted systems ripe for survey work. Since the start of the 25th century, DS-12 has also seen more missions of cooperation and collaboration with the Romulan Free State in both research and security.
