Overview
Summary
The Eos Station Division operates within the Alpha Doradus system, specifically out of Eos Station (DS108), a Watchtower Class Station. The division is supported by the USS Edison, an Edison-Class starship assigned to border patrol duties. The primary mission of the Eos Station Division is to ensure border safety and provide patrol services, particularly near Freecloud and close to T’Met.
Following the collapse of the Romulan Star Empire, the Alpha Doradus Corridor has become a magnet for smugglers, warlords, and syndicates vying for control. Amid this fractured frontier, the Phoenix Frontier Squadron is Starfleet’s adaptive response; part law enforcement, part intelligence agency, part diplomatic wildcard.

Mission
Driven more by necessity than regulation, the Squadron is tasked with stabilizing shipping lanes, monitoring illicit activity, and navigating the morally gray zones where peace is bought, not protected. At its core: the USS Phoenix, a Ross-class starship serving as a mobile command center and operational hub in this volatile region. Without a fixed station to anchor them, the Phoenix acts as both tactical headquarters and diplomatic envoy in a space where allegiances are fluid and every cargo hold tells a different story.
The Eos Station Division's primary mission is twofold: navigating the complexities of the shifting political landscape within the Romulan Free State and ensuring security near Freecloud, a notorious hub of illegal activity. The Division's objectives include:

* Providing intelligence gathering and serving as a listening post for Starfleet within the Alpha Doradus system. With the collapse of the Romulan Star Empire and the ensuing civil war, the Romulan Free State has become a hotbed of shifting allegiances. Eos Station's sensor arrays and intelligence teams are tasked with monitoring Romulan movements, communications, and political developments.
The squadron was made defunct in 2402 when all assets were reassigned to other duties.
* Supporting and conducting patrols to monitor illegal activities in the sector, particularly due to its proximity to Freecloud. The Division's strategic location makes it a crucial point for overseeing trade routes and ensuring that criminal activities, smuggling operations, and unauthorized incursions do not further destabilize the sector.

History
* Intelligence Gathering: Monitor Romulan activity, Consortium Operations, and illegal trade.
Eos Station was commissioned in 2293, right before the historic Khitomer Accords were signed. Situated strategically along the Romulan Neutral Zone, this Watchtower-class station was the latest marvel of Federation engineering, packed with cutting-edge technology. Its mission was straightforward: keep an eye on the Romulans, defend the borders, and monitor any activity along the edge of Federation space. For many years, Eos Station was a symbol of the Federation’s vigilance, always watching, always ready.
* Border Patrol: Intercept illicit shipments and deter pirate activity.
* Rapid Response: Conduct reconnaissance, rescue missions, and defensive operations.
* Diplomatic & Crisis Management: Negotiate in dangerous situations and oversee humanitarian efforts.

But galactic politics, as they often do, shifted. After the Tomed Incident in 2311, the Romulan Star Empire withdrew into isolation, closing its borders and pulling back from the stage. With the Romulans fading into the background, Eos Station’s strategic significance dwindled. Starfleet’s attention was drawn elsewhere, and gradually, the station’s status was reduced. It became little more than a minor outpost on a border that no longer seemed to matter. Over the decades, what was once a proud station fell into disrepair. Its once state-of-the-art systems became relics, echoes of a past era, as the station languished in obscurity.

Then came 2400, and everything changed. The collapse of the Romulan Star Empire at Rator and the chaos of the ensuing civil war turned the region upside down. Starfleet quickly realized it needed to shore up its defenses against the fractured Romulan factions and ordered Eos Station to be reactivated and modernized. In 2401, the USS Edison, an Edison-class starship, was assigned to reinforce the station’s capabilities. With the station fully operational again, Starfleet established the Eos Station Division, tasked with securing the Alpha Doradus system. Peter Mitchell, a seasoned officer who knew the region’s complexities inside and out, was appointed as Divisional Commander.

Summary

Following the collapse of the Romulan Star Empire, the Alpha Doradus Corridor has become a magnet for smugglers, warlords, and syndicates vying for control. Amid this fractured frontier, the Phoenix Frontier Squadron is Starfleet’s adaptive response; part law enforcement, part intelligence agency, part diplomatic wildcard.

The squadron was made defunct in 2402 when all assets were reassigned to other duties.
