The USS Proteus (NCC-97402), an Echelon-class light cruiser Federation starship currently assigned to Fourth Fleet and was under the command of Captain Noli Auru. Capable of rapidly responding to a wide variety of humanitarian and engineering assignments, she is also no slouch when it comes to protecting Starfleet and Federation assets across the quadrant. Recently Proteus was released back to regular duties within Fourth Fleet as her command crew was reassigned to other duties.
History
Launched in 2399, USS Proteus was assigned to Fourth Fleet upon commissioning. During the events of the Labyrinth crisis, Proteus closed with a Borg Sphere at the mouth of an Underspace corridor, resulting in the demise of Captain Elara Quinn. Upon completion of repairs, the ship returned to active duty under the command of Captain Noli Auru.
