The USS Swiftsure (NCC-97410) is an Echelon-class light cruiser assigned to Sirius Squadron. As part of Tannhäuser Division, her primary duty is the support of other squadron ships and missions, providing extensive logistical and engineering capabilities with her industrial replicators and large complement of smallcraft. Swiftsure is captained by Commander Thabo Xhakaza, who, like many of his young crew, was rapidly promoted in the wake of Frontier Day. The inexperience of this crew is balanced by one of the ship’s core duties for Sirius Squadron: serving as the mobile operations centre for the Starfleet Corps of Engineers unit when needed. Under such circumstances, SCE unit leader Commander Cortez has mission and operational command.
