USS Sausalito: Difference between revisions

From Bravo Fleet
m Ship is not part of a unit. Task Force and Task Group need those words, added. Linking the CO and XO in the infobox. Plenty of other things untouched as suspect this is being used for an academy course, so just tidying up the infobox. Added a clear tag at the end to force the category boxes down. Suggest using the == wiki tags for headlines versus '''<big> etc since it will make a table of contents. Consider looking at other pages code.

The USS Sausalito is a California-class utility cruiser. In order to assist in so many areas, the ship has extra large cargo bays, several extra science labs and stations and quarters to accommodate extra science personnel.

History

The USS Sausalito was one of several California-class cruisers that were commissioned to perform various missions ranging from minor scientific surveys to medical and engineering support missions, and routine transport assignments.

In 2401, it was assigned to Starbase Bravo, under the command of Commander Krolo Alen and ran support missions to many different areas of the region. The starship was assigned to Task Force 21 under the command of Captain Harper in late 2401.

During the Devil to Pay campaign, the crew of the USS Sausalito was sent out to repair damages done to a research satellite in Task Force 21 space near the planet Thalos. Shortly after completing the repairs, the crew received a distress signal from a Federation colony located on the planet. The crew helped track a kidnapped liberated ex-borg and uncover a black-market hotspot for borg technology.

In January of 2402, the USS Sausalito received transfer orders from Task Force 21 to Task Force 47. While en route to Task Force 47 space, the USS Sausalito received a distress call from a nearby independent Federation colony called ‘Haven's Reach.” The Sausalito works quickly to evacuate and save as many civilians as possible. In the process, the crew discovers a local man, an ex-borg named Taren Vos was injured while trying to help others escape. The crew faces the aftermath of aftershocks while trying to locate Taren. They find him and rescue him. After having spinal surgery, Taren is able to return home and is honored by his fellow colonists.

The crew had only just arrived in Task Force 47 space when there was a blackout and subsequent attack by the Vaadwaur. The crew of the Sausalito is close by and manages to locate the USS Bell Rock. The crew discovers that the Bell Rock had been attacked and most of the crew were either badly injured or had perished during the attack. Captain Harper and her officers discover Captain Bernard McCauldy injured but alive. He informs them that the Vaadwaur attacked suddenly and boarded. They fought as hard as they could but the ship's diplomatic officer, Grollana Tosh had been taken.

With the help of the crew from the USS Chawla and Captain Rigras, the crew was able to track the Vaadwaur through a volatile plasma storm, locating an outpost hidden within and rescuing the captured diplomatic officer Tosh after a fierce skirmish with a concealed enemy vessel. Despite heavy damage and failing systems, both ships escaped the storm together—bruised, but victorious.

Configuration

While many of the California-class cruisers are set up for one of four variants (Science, Command, Engineering or Medical support) the Sausalito typically runs close to a starbase so that it can be reconfigured to assist in any of these areas. In order to assist in so many areas, the ship has extra-large cargo bays, several extra science labs and stations and quarters to accommodate extra science personnel.
